Policy team

Our Policy team plays a critical role in leading national and regional responses to sector issues - advocating for dairy farmers, monitoring policy changes and risks, and engaging with decision-makers. The team also works directly with farmers, supporting them to have their say on changing regulations and ensuring their voices are heard and considered at every policy level.

We’re advocating for fair, practical freshwater and resource management policies - reducing farmers’ regulatory burden while supporting environmental outcomes. The team also collaborates with other sector groups to deliver more realistic, workable regulatory outcomes. Their efforts - and those across DairyNZ - are progressing a positive future for New Zealand dairy farming.
