Nominations for the DairyNZ Board of Director elections closed at 12 noon Wednesday, 27 August 2025.
Following the nomination period, DairyNZ directors Tracy Brown and Chris Lewis have been re-appointed unopposed to the DairyNZ Board.
Tracy has served on the DairyNZ Board for two terms since 2019 and was announced as the Chair-elect last June before officially becoming chair in October 2024, while Chris has served one term on the DairyNZ Board since 2022.
Both directors have made a strong impact during their time on the DairyNZ Board and will continue to play a vital role as we support farmers through research, new solutions, advocacy and extension.
DairyNZ has a governing board of eight directors. Five are farmer-elected and three are independent, professional directors.
Directors’ Remuneration Committee election
This year, two nominations were received for the Directors’ Remuneration Committee (DRC) vacancies. The DRC reviews and recommends changes to directors’ fees.
As only two vacancies exist, Shirley Trumper and Ellen Barnett are re-appointed as committee members.
Voting packs
In early October, all levy-paying dairy farmers will receive DairyNZ’s Annual Report and a voting information pack on the other resolutions for members to consider and vote on, including a Biosecurity Response Levy consultation.
Voting on these resolutions and the Biosecurity Response Levy Consultation opens on Friday, 3 October 2025, and closes at 12 noon, Tuesday 4 November.
