Regulation
We use science and evidence to advocate for meaningful policy outcomes for our sector and support farmers to have their say on changing regulation.
We actively monitor emerging policies, regulation, and any risks and opportunities that could impact the dairy sector at a regional or national level, today and in the future. This lets us mobilise our efforts, resources and partners, guide our science and research initiatives, and make submissions on behalf of New Zealand dairy farmers.
To keep up to date on all the rules and regulations, visit Ministry for Primary Industries' Ground Rules website.
We push for fair and meaningful outcomes for farmers with policymakers. We do this by drawing on our science and research, comprehensive farm and economics expertise and data, and connection to the wider scientific community. Our team of expert’s test policy assumptions so regulators understand the wider impacts and practicalities of their decisions.
We actively engage with farmers, so their voices are heard and represented in our submissions to decision makers. Our research brings together the perspectives New Zealand dairy farmers have on a wide range of issues, the progress made by the sector, and the positive contribution dairy makes to New Zealand success.
Our constructive relationships with the wider farming, science, and government communities helps us give voice to the perspectives of dairy farmers across New Zealand.
